Important Passport Service Update (As of April 10, 2025)
No Passport Renewals (Temporarily Unavailable)
Currently, German passport renewals are NOT possible at the Cebu consulate because the biometric fingerprint machine is broken. The staff mentioned that the replacement machine is expected to come from Berlin, but there is no confirmed date for when the service will be back.
If you’re in urgent need of travel documents, don’t worry—there’s an alternative.
Temporary Passport Available (Good for 1 Year)
You can apply for a temporary passport (Reisepass zur vorübergehenden Verwendung). I personally applied for one today and received it for ₱10,880, which included express processing for a faster turnaround.
💡 Pro Tip: Ask the staff to place you on the waiting list for passport renewals. They will contact you via call or text once the service is available again.
